The Baptist Health System Physician Hospital Organization (BHSPHO) is a Joint Venture between the 1,500 physician network (Class A member), and VHS San Antonio Partners, L.P., a Delaware limited partnership, doing business as the Baptist Health System (Class B member). Average annual increase in physician membership is 3%. The BHSPHO is comprised of approximately 1,500 physicians located throughout the greater San Antonio area and surrounding counties.

The BHSPHO is comprised of approximately 1,500 physicians located throughout the greater San Antonio area and surrounding counties, who admit to at least one of the five Baptist Health System (“BHS”) hospitals. A physician pays an initiation fee of $150 to join the BHSPHO physician network and a $100 annual membership fee.

The Baptist Health System matches the physician’s annual dues. These matching funds are the operating capital for the BHSPHO. The initiation fee is waived for Primary Care physicians.
